What Is It?
Invisalign treatment uses a series of virtually invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that are made with 3D computer imaging technology and have been proven to be effective.
Why Would I Want It?
Not only are the aligners virtually invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Also, it is easier to brush and especially floss during treatment. They are usually more comfortable than traditional braces in regards to lip and cheek irritation. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 1-2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit us about once every 6 weeks to track your treatment progress and deliver your next series of aligners. Average total treatment time for Dr. Altherr’s Invisalign patients is about 9 months, but can be shorter and up to about 24 months. It does vary from patient to patient.
